What we look for

  • Signs of disease and decay
  • Pest infestation, including termites. We work closely with pest controllers to stop termites spreading.
  • Environmental stress
  • Hazards to people and property, now and in the longer term

Keep what can be kept

Preserving trees is our aim, but we also have to make sure the people around them are safe. Our team has extensive knowledge in diagnosing ill health in trees and can advise on the best course of action.

That might be pruning, a change in care, or in some cases removal.

Signs a tree is worth a look

  • Dead or dying branches in the crown, or thinning leaves and dieback at the tips
  • Fungus or mushrooms at the base of the trunk
  • Cracks, splits or hollows in the trunk or main limbs
  • A lean that's getting worse, or soil lifting around the roots
  • Borer holes, sawdust or termite activity
  • Branches over the house, the driveway or where people gather

How an assessment works

  1. You call

Tell us which tree worries you and why. You don't need to be home for us to take a look.

  2. We inspect

Our arborists check for disease, decay, pests and termites, environmental stress, and hazards to people and property.

  3. Honest advice

Pruning, a change in care, or removal if it's unsafe. If termites are involved, we work with pest controllers so the work is done in the right order.

All FAQs

Can a sick tree be saved?
Often, yes. Preserving trees is our aim. Removing dead or diseased branches helps stop the spread of disease and pests, and directs the tree's energy into healthy growth. If the tree can't be kept safely, we'll say so.
Do you deal with termites in trees?
We work closely with pest controllers to stop termites spreading and to make sure the work is carried out in the right order.
Do I need to be home?
You don't need to be onsite unless you have a specific request or the tree or trees are difficult to describe. Normally, if you're not onsite, we'll call you to confirm your request.
What if the tree has to come out?
We'll explain why, and quote the removal for free. We'll beat most written quotes. See tree removal and our cost guide.
